The book’s binding is a reinforced library binding. The text on the hardcover is written in alternating orange and white font, and is limited to the author and illustrator's names, and the title of the book. The image on the front is of Cato, which is a woodblock press. The front cover image mirrors the dust jacket, except the red is replaced with orange. On the back, the book is stamped, saying "This is a Putnam Guaranteed Library Binding" on a crest.
